Allowed traffic types
- On peering LAN, we allow only the following Ethernet frames:
- 0x0800 - IPv4
- 0x0806 - ARP
- 0x86dd - IPv6
- By default, only one MAC address is allowed per port. If you need an additional MAC address, please send us an email with a described request.
- No Proxy ARP is allowed on a peering LAN
- No broadcast is allowed except for ARP packets
- No link-local traffic is allowed:
- ICMP redirects
- IEEE 802 Spanning Tree
- Vendor proprietary protocols. These include, but are not limited to:
- Discovery protocols: CDP, LLDP, and etc
- VLAN/trunking protocols: VTP, DTP
- IGP routing protocol broadcasts: ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, IGRP
- BOOTP/DHCP packets
- PIM protocol packets
- L2 packets for loop detection
- ICMPv6 ND-RA
- No local or direct broadcasts are allowed
- Inter-IX peering LAN prefix shouldn't be advertised to other networks
